Utah has very limited grandparent’s rights but they can be asserted in very limited cases where, for example, a child has been raised solely or primarily by grandparents and a child has or will suffer physical harm if in the custody of the biological parents. Alternatively, grandparents, other family members or other third parties can obtain guardianship, for broad or limited purposes, over a child or disabled adult. Please contact us if you have a case involving grandparent rights or guardianship.
