Ms. Medura completed a prestigious clerkship with the Utah Court of Appeals after completing law school at the University of Utah at the top of her class. Ms. Medura completed an internship with the Utah Third District Office of the Guardian ad Litem where she assisted lawyers representing the interests of children in abuse, neglect and dependency cases. She then worked at one of Utah’s oldest and most prestigious law firms, Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy for approximately twelve years. Ms. Medura practiced in all areas of complex, commercial litigation, including all phases of trial and appellate practice, focusing more and more on family law as her career progressed. Ms. Medura became a shareholder at Van Cott in 2009 where she continued to increase her focus on family law and was named by Utah Business Magazine as a “Legal Elite” in the area of family law. Ms. Medura has won that award again in 2015 and 2016. Ms. Medura began her solo family law practice in June 2010 which quickly expanded when she joined forces with Mr. Jennings in November 2010 and began practicing as JENNINGS & MEDURA, LLC. Ms. Medura is a highly sought after private Guardian ad Litem and assists families and the Utah Courts in protecting the best interests of minor children throughout the state.
Mr. Jennings worked for the Legal Aid Society of Utah for several years as a paralegal and returned as a staff attorney after completing law school at Gonzaga Law School where he was a made Law Review and participated in student government. Mr. Jennings then began a long and distinguished career at one of Utah’s most prestigious family law firms, Corporon & Williams. Mr. Jennings spent over ten years practicing in the area of family law and bankruptcy. Mr. Jennings gained a well-known and stellar reputation for his broad knowledge of family law, has handled thousands of family law cases from inception through the appellate level and has been actively involved in the family law community in Utah for over 17 years and has received the prestigious Utah Business Magazine nomination as a “Legal Elite” in the area of family law in 2009, 2010, 2015, and 2016. Mr. Jennings also practices in the areas of bankruptcy law and his knowledge of the relationship between bankruptcy and family law is invaluable asset the entire legal community whom he frequently assists with such issues and has lectured before the Family Law Section on such topics for the Utah State Bar.
Brent Salazar Hall joined the firm as a partner at Jennings & Medura, LLC in 2016. Mr. Hall received his Law Degree from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2004 where he was selected as a member of his school’s National Moot Court Team and was awarded his school’s Academic Excellence Award. Mr. Hall began honing his trial skills in middle school, competing in Mock Trial competitions through college, where he won All-American Honors competing at the national level. Mr. Hall’s practice includes over twelve years of experience in litigation, including family law, criminal defense, child welfare, appeals, and juvenile court matters. He began practicing family law as a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake. Mr. Hall later served for over eight years as parent’s counsel in abuse and neglect matters in the juvenile court while additionally representing clients in family law and criminal matters. He has presented at State and National conventions on issues of child welfare law and is serving his third term on the Utah Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on the Rules of Juvenile Procedure. Mr. Hall was selected by Utah Business Magazine as one of Utah’s Legal Elite for Family Law in 2015 and 2016.
Kaitlyn Gibbs graduated in the top of her class from the University of Utah with a degree in International Studies, Communication and Ballet. Mrs. Gibbs completed a Hinckley Institute internship with the United States District Court, as well as another Hinckley Institute internship with Maître, a non-profit organization that focuses on AIDS advocacy in India. Mrs. Gibbs distinguished herself while attending the University of Utah College of Law by being chosen and acting as an editor of the Journal of Law and Family Studies and acting as the Managing director of Global Justice Think Tank, an organization in which law students collaborate with law school professors and International legal scholars in researching issues related to global justice. Mrs. Gibbs is a dedicated attorney and also function as a private Guardian ad Litem who is highly sought after by families and the Utah Courts for assistance in protecting the best interest of children in complex cases involving children throughout the State of Utah. Mrs. Gibbs joined JENNINGS & MEDURA, LLC, as an associate in 2013 focusing on family law and brings a fresh perspective to the practice.
